What is Worldschooling?

The World is the Classroom

Worldschooling is all about stepping outside the walls of traditional education systems using local resources in the location you are in as the springboard to rich learning.

Learning by Living

Learning happens everywhere—through travel, cultural experiences, nature, and real-life adventures. It’s education in action—messy, exciting, and unforgettable.

Raising Global Citizens

Choosing this life helps kids (and parents!) develop open minds, empathy, and adaptability by connecting with people and places around the globe.

Worldschooling is incredible—but let’s be real, it can also be overwhelming. That’s where our community comes in!

Part knowledge hub, part virtual community center - Worldschooled has the inside scoop to make your journey smoother, richer, and way less stressful.

Our primary aim is to create a space where you can access practical tools, curated resources, and worthwhile workshops while creating relationships with your fellow worldschooling parents.

From hub/school locations, visa, and education resources, this is the go-to space for finding the support, info and people living this life alongside you.

We’re all about transparency here, so heads up that building and culitvating a community, curating a data hub, interviewing, setting up workshops and other opportunities to connect takes time & resources, so the platform will come at a very reasonable fee.

So whether you're just starting out or already living the worldschooling life, we hope you’ll join us in creating the go-to space for support, life hacks, and the best kind of insider info—the kind you can only get from people who get it.

Come for the resources. Stay for the friendships!

Collage of photos with colorful doodles and text, featuring two mothers with their children outdoors, including a vineyard in Tuscany, a lake in the Dolomites with mountains, and playgrounds in the Balkans, celebrating their travels.

It all started with a little question that grew into a big idea…

“Why isn’t there somewhere online I can find all this info And also, where are my people?!?”

hi, we’re Wendy & Katinka

Full-time traveling mama’s passionate about well absolutely everything, but especially teaching our kids about how to move and learn about our world. After a year of “living the dream”, we found two things missing from our experiences.

One! The lack of a central repository where information can be as easily found as it is shared; and Two! How difficult it can be to establish connections in a new place and then it’s doubled down on maintaining those connections once a worldschooling session or destination is in your rearview mirror.

Fate had us meet at a hub in Italy and who are we to fight the alchemy?! After comparing notes on the bliss and pain points - we decided to team up and create the platform for worldschooling families of every level and experience to connect and share in all of the information they could possibly need.

We also had an “aha” moment in realising that we could empower people to make this leap! We know just how incredible this life is and so we set about building what we wished existed!

 FAQ’s

  • Worldschooling is a lifestyle and educational approach where the world becomes your family’s classroom.

It’s about using travel, real-life experiences, and cultural immersion to help your kids (and you!) learn, grow, and explore—outside the walls of a traditional school.

Worldschooling can look different for every family:

    • Some families travel full-time.

    • Some take extended trips a few times a year.

    • Some combine travel with homeschooling or online learning.

    • Some stay rooted in one place but prioritize global awareness, cultural experiences, and hands-on learning.

    • Some move from hub to hub. Country to country.

    • Some do it fast, some do it slow.

    • Some move from location to location using various forms of transportation.

    At its core:

Worldschooling is about curiosity, connection, and building an education—and a life—that works for your family, wherever you are in the world.

There’s no one right way to do it.
    There’s just your way.

  • Nope! Worldschooling isn’t one-size-fits-all.

Some families travel full-time, some take big trips once a year, some save their summers for living differently, some explore their own countries with fresh eyes.

Whether you’re slow traveling, part-timing —it all counts.

  • Think of it like weaving, not balancing. Some days are rich with hands-on, real-life learning (think temples, cooking classes, and navigating new cities).

Other days you might lean into more structured schooling—workbooks, or project-based learning. It’s about finding your own rhythm.

Spoiler: learning happens all the time when you’re out in the real world.

  • This is such a common worry—and it’s a great question. Worldschooling kids make friends in all kinds of places: travel hubs, local playgrounds, worldschool meetups, online communities, and even through shared adventures with other traveling families. Socialisation looks different on the road, but it’s absolutely there. Often, kids develop deep, meaningful friendships—just sometimes in shorter bursts.

This goes for the parents too.

  • There’s no magic formula, but many families make this work by:

    • Traveling slowly (it’s usually much more affordable!)

    • Working remotely or freelancing

    • Budgeting intentionally

    • Swapping expensive destinations for affordable gems

We’ll be sharing tips, family budgets, and real-world hacks inside the community to help you figure out what might work for your family.

  • This is one of our biggest priorities!

We’ve got you covered. Inside the community, we’re building a go-to database of tried-and-true hubs, a library worthy resources of must-have apps/shortcuts to thirve at this life and of course a direct line of communication straight from other families who’ve been there/done that.

This is a space for beginners, seasoned travelers, and everyone in between. No experience required—just curiosity and a sense of adventure.
